Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show Opening Rescheduled
For Saturday, October 29.
FORT LAUDERDALE. The 46th Fort
Lauderdale International Boat Show announced the rescheduling of Opening Day to Sat.,
October 29. The show will now run through Tues., November 1.
Show producers made this decision based on the National Hurricane
Center’s latest forecasts on Hurricane Wilma’s path, and meetings
with local law enforcement, city and county officials, and the
U.S. Coast Guard.
"The current forecast calls for the storm to be 75 miles
off Florida’s Atlantic coast by Tuesday afternoon, allowing us
to resume set-up at all six show sites," said Kaye Pearson,
president of Yachting Promotions, Inc., producers of the show.
He added, "We are in continuous communication with our exhibitors
to ensure a smooth opening."
Show producers will continue to monitor the situation. If an earlier
show opening is possible due to a change in the hurricane’s path,
all efforts will be made to do so.
