Sevmash is building Megayacht.
Severodwinsk: There started a building of the first yacht of Project
A133 at the SEVMASH Shipyard. The contract was signed out
by Jalesburg Corporation in December the 2004.
The 67 meters steel-hulled yacht Project A133 with aluminum superstructure
will be the largest full displacement yacht built in Russia. Naval
Architect is AGAT Design Bureau (St.Petersburg), exterior
styling and interior design is from H2 Yacht Design (London).
Yacht will have an 11m beam, a 3,5m draught and a range of 6.000
miles. A pair of MTU 16V
4000 M70 3100 hp diesels is predicted to give a maximum speed
of 18 knots. The yacht will accommodate 12 guests in 6 staterooms
and 14 crew. The construction will be conduct according to demands
of British Lloyds. Delivery is expected 2007.
The facts:
The SEVMASH Shipyard (The Northern Engineer Factory), the base enterprise
of Russia State Center Nuclear Shipbuilding is located in Severodvinsk
city of Archangelsk area about the Severnaja Dvina river follows
to the White Sea. The first vessel - inkhorn "The Soviet Belorussia"
was started in 1939.
From the beginning of 1950 the main area of the factory is the
submarine building. The first Russian nuclear submarine "Leninsky
Komsomol" was built in 1955.
While sea trials of nuclear submarine "K-162" (Project 661) in
1971 the new world record was made of underwater speed of 44,7 knots
which is still not covered.
Since 1980 the shipyard built six heavy nuclear missile cruisers
of Project 941 Taifun, with 20 intercontinental ballistic missiles.
These submarines are the largest submarines ever to be built (beam
175m, draft 23m, full displacement 35.000t). These submarines are
at the Guinness Record Book as the largest submarines in the world.
The submarine "Komsomolets" (Project 685), which got a new record
of water plunge of 1.027m, was build in 1983.
Over 100 submarines were build, including 28 nuclear from the
beginning. Sevmash built more the 100 piece ships since 1991 for
the foreign customers.
